About the role

At Good Trouble, we build games in Unity, and always integrate gamepad controls from the start. Our code is always well-commented, and since our team is small, it’s never a chore to track down who to ask questions to.

This is an intermediate position that will focus on porting games built in Unity with C# for PC to other platforms, such as Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, XBox Series X, and Mobile.

This is a contract role, with the possibility of converting to full-time. This role also includes a percentage of game revenue across all platforms (yes, including the ones you’ll be porting onto), in addition to a competitive rate.

Summary

As a Porting Engineer, you'll take work closely with the core Good Trouble team to bring a project made for PC (with gamepad controls already working) onto other platforms.

You’ll help ensure the game passes all certifications and reviews needed to be approved in the ported-platform stores, as well. And since you’ll also get a percentage of revenue of the games you work on, you’ll be opening up huge doors for personal gain in the process.

This role does not require a degree, but we'd definitely like to see examples of prior work.
